Welcome Manchester Advanced Shoulder Cadaveric Course

OVERVIEW:

We invite you to join us for an intensive full day cadaveric course designed to enhance your expertise in advanced shoulder surgical techniques. Arranged by the Manchester Trauma Courses,  hosted by Arthrex and held at their Medical Education Centre, Innovation Point, Solihull,  offering state-of the art cadaveric training lab, this full day cadaveric course will offer advanced training in both arthroscopic shoulder surgery and shoulder arthroplasty using Arthrex products. This is designed for senior trainees and early year consultants.

Places are limited to provide high delegate to faculty ratio

Notes

Attendees will need to bring hospital identification for admission.

No cameras or telephones are allowed in the cadaveric lab.

Cancellation policy: 50% until 30 days before the event. No refund thereafter.

COURSE FACULTY

Bibhas Roy

Mr Roy completed his orthopaedic training within Yorkshire and gained specialist experience in shoulder and elbow surgery during a 12 month fellowship at the Nottingham shoulder unit in 2004. During his higher surgical training, he completed a master’s degree in bioengineering with Leeds University and also holds a diploma in medical informatics. His shoulder and elbow surgical procedures include arthroscopy, tennis elbow, complex rotator cuff surgery, complex upper limb trauma and scapula fractures.

Ananth Ebinesan

Ananth completed his orthopaedic training within the North West Deanery followed by fellowships in Wrightington and Liverpool. He is currently Clinical Director for T&O at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. He also serves on BESS council and has been involved with NICE guidelines. His shoulder and elbow surgical procedures include rotator cuff surgery, instability, arthroplasty, complex shoulder and elbow trauma and scapula fractures.

Chris Jenkins

Mr. Chris Jenkins is a Consultant Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. Following higher surgical training on the Severn Deanery Rotation, he completed two years of subspeciality shoulder and elbow fellowships in Wrightington and Exeter. In addition to completing an MSc in Orthopaedic Engineering, his upper limb research has been published and presented at both national and international scientific meetings. He holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education, having organised and taught on numerous local and national courses for both undergraduate and postgraduate learners.

Matthew Kent

Mr Matthew Kent is a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery.

He qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1999 and after completing his junior doctor training in the Merseyside region, moved to Cambridge to complete his specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics. The last year of his formal training was in an advanced fellowship covering upper limb trauma and elbow surgery. He has also visited specialist centres in Europe and North America to bring further skills and new techniques back to Liverpool.

He is now a Consultant in the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust. Here he is helping to expand research in the unit and is currently the lead for upper limb research. In addition he is Secretary to the North West Upper Limb Group, organizing regular educational meetings for the upper limb surgeons in the region.

Bhanu Mishra

Bhanu completed his orthopaedic training in 2019 (CESR) followed by Sports fellowship in Canada and Shoulder and Elbow at Manchester Foundation Trust.

He is currently Shoulder and Elbow Consultant at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. His shoulder and elbow surgical procedures include rotator cuff surgery, instability, arthroplasty, complex shoulder and elbow trauma including scapula fractures.

Usman Butt

Mr Butt is a Consultant Shoulder and Upper Limb Surgeon based at Salford Royal/ Northern Care Alliance. He graduated with honours from the University of Birmingham and undertook his early surgical training took place in the West Midlands then returning to Manchester for specialist orthopaedic training. He completed UK fellowship training at  Wrightington Upper Limb Unit and Stockport Shoulder unit prior to taking up his Consultant position. He was awarded the prestigious ESSKA (European) travelling award and BESS Mayo Elbow Fellowship. He has produced a number of authoritative articles and book chapters on the management of upper limb and orthopaedic conditions and has published and presented his work internationally with multiple prize-winning accolades.
